The Committees of Correspondence were shadow governments organized by the Patriot leaders of the Thirteen Colonies on the end of American Revolution.

The American Colonists realized that they should not be taken for granted anymore. They wanted to be their own colony now. They hated the fact that everything they did was under the British government. So in order to try to make British lower taxes and they boycotted the goods to give them no business.

COMMITTEES of COOESPONDENCE-The Committees of Correspondence were shadow governments organized by the Patriot leaders. A total of about 7,000 to 8000 Patriots served on these committees at the colonial and local levels. The committees became the leaders of the American resistance to British actions, and largely determined the war effort at the state and local level. These served an important role in the Revolution, by disseminating the colonial interpretation of British actions between the colonies and to foreign governments.

BOYCOTTING of ENGLISH GOOD in the COLONIES- In 1767, William Townshend, the new Chancellor of the Exchequer, created the Townshend Duties, small taxes on a long list of goods such as lead, paint, glass, and paper that were bought in America. The money raised from this would be used to pay for the army and salaries of royal officials in America. The colonists retaliated against this with a boycott of all British goods which lasted about three years. As a result of the boycott, American women gained a larger place in society because they had to provide many of the refined goods that were usually gotten from Britain.

Committee of Correspondence: They were shadow governments made by Patriot leaders of the Thirteen Colonies. They coordinate the responces to Britain. By 1774-1775 the emerged as shadow governments, supersedding colonial legislature and royal officials.

Boycotting of English Goods in the Colonies: The colonists boycotted on the English goods because they were mad about how much taxes they had to pay. Then Parliament started to pass the Stamp Act, the Sugar Act, and the Tea Act. This caused the colonists to have to pay more. So they stopped buying goods so the English wouldn't get buisness.

1) The "Committees of Coorespondence" was a group orgenized to govern the thirteen colonies, was created during the American Revolution.

2) The "Boycotting of English Goods in the Colonies" was a act rebelling the Stamp Act, Tea Act, and Sugar Act. It was because the colonist no longer agreed with the English Parliment, and didn't agree with the fact that they had no say in what would be getting taxed.

Groups appointed by the legislature of the 13 colonies. Meant for intercolony communications. First group was formed by Samuel Adams in Boston. 80 others formed in massachusettes. In 1773 Virginia formed a group of 11. The commitees were instramental in promoting colonial unity.
The Boycott was supported because the colonists did not want to be ruled by the English Law. They left to be free of it, so by boyotting they showed this to the English govnment.

*The patriots boycotted because they did not like that they were not being represented by someone and that they couldn't speak to the government about the taxes. The goods that had been taxed were Paper, tea,and stamps.

Boycotting of English goods in colonies was the Townshend Act was the revival of agreement not to import British goods, especially luxury products.

The committee of correspondence is where a group that was put together by the local government to discuss things that are happening in the colony. They played a big part in the American Revolution.

The boycotting of English goods in the colonies is where the colonists were mad that they charged taxes on english goods. They stopped buying goods that were taxed so the buisnesses started declining. So they searched for people who didn't tax goods.

The British needed money because they were running out because of the wars so they decided to tax commonly used goods. The colonist didn't like it so they boycotted the goods and that caused the merchants to stop making money. So the british stopped the taxing.

1. The Committee of Correspondence was a secret government of which the leaders of the thirteen colonies organized the day before the American Revolution. The Committee of Correspondence claimed their plans and negotiated the response with Britain.

2. Boycotting of English Goods in the Colonies is where the colonists were boycotting (going on strike against something) the goods that English were shipping over because they were putting taxes on the goods. Also in the boycotting of English Goods in the Colonies the colonists supported it because they did not want to be ruled over the English Government and that is the reason they started their own colonies because they tried to escape from them in the first place.
