Direct Democracy is where the whole country will meet up in one place. They also vote on anything and everythig.A Representive Democracy is where each state has 2 Sentes who vote on laws. They also have repersentatives for the House Of Representitive depending on how big the state is you may get more or less repersentives. Representative Democracy - A representative democracy is when certain people in the democracy votes on the issues that are already provided.

Direct Democracy is when everyone in the nation votes on an issue or a law.
Representative Democracy is when everyone that chooses to vote and is eligable to, votes on an issue, or to elect someone.
We use a Representative Democracy because it allows people to have a say by voting seperately. With a Direct Democracy everyone gathers in one area to vote on issues, or elections, this wouldn't work because in the US we have too many people to fit in one area, if we did we would be very very crowded. So it wouldn't work out too well.

Direct democracy is when all the people in that country vote on every little issue and law even if its as simple as should we spend the money to repaint the White House. Think about if we had a direct democracy people would have to leave there job to vote on isssues it would be a big waste of time.

The United States has a representative democracy which is the people have an election every four years and every one in the U.S.A. has to vote. The person we elected makes the desition for us so we don't have to worry about voting on every law.

This democracy makes much more sense for our country becasue we have so many people in our country. We try to pick a president that is best for our country. A lot of people would get mad about direct democracy because if they were in the middle of an imporant project for there work they would have to drop every thing to go vote on some dumb law. It just makes more senses for our country to have a representative democracy.

In a direct democracy every person votes on every single issue.

In a representative democracy the people vote certain people into office to represent them.

The United States is a representative democracy because our population is so large, that if we were to have every single person vote on every thing it just would not work and no problems would be solved. Now that does not mean that the people can not have a say in every thing (such as by petitions and letters to the government) it just means they are not always required to when a problem or trajedy shows up.

A Representative Democracy- is a democracy that has people running for a title and the people vote and there votes go through goverment officials and they come to a conclusion based on the peoples votes. A Direct Democracy-is a democracy that the people in person go to discuss things like new laws to the goverment. The United States has a representative democracy because the goverment didn't want a bunch of people coming up in bunches to discuss about laws they thought it would be a hassle if everybody came up at the same time eveytime there was a new law.
