1-After a few years with the Articles of Confederation it was clear that there was a problem with this first constitution...what was it?

2-What event showed people that we needed to strengthen the government?

2.A riot in massachusettes of farmers that could not be stopped by the central govnment.

The articles of Confederation didn't have enough power for a cenralized government.
The Shay's rabelion showed the government that they didn't have enough poweer, because they couldn't do anything to stop th rebelion.
The purpose of it was to strengthen the centrel government, and to create a better union between the states.
They added the bill of right because they wanted to keep the central government from gaining too much power.

1.) The Federal government was not strong enough and the state government was too powerful.
2.) The event that showed that the government needed strengthening was when the farmers rebelled in what was know as Shay's Rebellion.
3.) The purpose of the Constitutional Convention in 1787 was to decide how to balance out the government between the state and federal government so that neither one of them became too powerful.
4.) The Bill of Rights was added to the Constitution to state the rights of the American people.

They realized this government wasn't as strong as it was meant to be, the central power was so weak that some of the state delegates didn't bother to show up to vote on the things they needed to vote on. Therefore they had to make a new constitution that was stronger than the last constitution.

The Shays rebellion which is where the farmers rebelled and didn't want to pay depts.

To strengthen the central government and to fix the problems in the consitution. So they all got together to fix the problems they were having. They wanted to make the perfect union.

To make sure none of the delegates got too much power within the government and to tell the people what their rights were and this made them happy.
